iovation to Host European Gambling User Group in Malta

Gambling Operators Across Dozens of Countries Share Strategies for an Improved Customer Experience

PORTLAND, OR--(Marketwired - May 18, 2015) - iovation, preventing fraud, identifying trustworthy customers and authenticating devices online and on mobile, is hosting its next Gambling User Group meeting on June 9, 2015 at the Radisson Blu Resort in St. Julian's, Malta. The user group will provide a way for online casinos, poker sites, sportsbooks, gaming operators and platform providers to collaborate in-person about fraud prevention challenges and ways to improve the online player experience.

"For the last five years iovation's device reputation service has been highlighting connections between IPs and devices and alerting us to fraud risk in real time, including bonus abuse, credit card fraud, identity theft and collusion," said David Smith, Fraud & Risk Operations Manager at Sky Betting and Gaming. "In addition to stopping fraud as efficiently as possible with strong device recognition, an invaluable device and account associations matrix, and our ability to adjust business rules at a moment's notice, we gain further insight by discussing fraud trends with our peers in the Fraud Force Community -- a natural extension to the in-person user groups hosted by iovation across Europe."

From iovation's global consortium of over 2.5 billion devices and 23 million fraud reports, the online gambling sector plays a major role in the continued strength of the network for all iovation customers. Nearly 25 percent of iovation clients are in gaming and contribute over 30,000 fraud and abuse reports every month.

"There is a wealth of knowledge that exists among our online gaming clients that's just waiting to be tapped, and we're excited to be able to provide the venue for that," said Gregory Zito, Director of Strategic Accounts at iovation. "Although minimizing fraud is our number one priority, we've found that more and more gaming clients have been utilizing our trust service to target their most valuable customers and we'll be sharing those stories in-person at the Malta user group."

Fraud prevention is nothing new to gambling operators, but now that new and predictive trust models are available, the focus is moving toward faster and more accurate segmentation of customers. Segmentation allows VIP players to be advanced more quickly, be targeted with high-end offers and have friction reduced in the player experience. This carries the additional benefit of helping identify and offer greater protection to more vulnerable or high-risk customers.

iovation's trust service identifies "good customers" by analyzing a consumer's online activity from their collective devices and shared intelligence from more than 3,000 participating fraud analysts. This unique data allows businesses to immediately identify which new customers qualify for special offers or status, efforts that otherwise could require months of investigation. As result, online gaming companies can give trusted users special treatment like higher deposit and withdrawal limits.

The Gambling User Group on the 9th of June is available free of charge exclusively to iovation clients. For details on attending, email fraudforce@iovation.com. For information on iovation's annual Fraud Force Summit in October, go to www.fraudforcesummit.com.
