iPass Joins the WiMAX Forum(R)


REDWOOD SHORES, CA--(Marketwire - August 14, 2007) - iPass Inc. (NASDAQ: IPAS), a global provider of services that unify the management of enterprise mobility, today announced that is has joined the WiMAX Forum®. WiMAX™ allows high-speed Internet access from laptops and other mobile devices over larger distances than previous technologies such as Wi-Fi. iPass' membership formalizes the relationships and work the company has conducted over the years with key WiMAX Forum members.

The WiMAX Forum is an industry-led, non-profit organization comprising more than 470 companies committed to promoting and certifying interoperable WiMAX products. WiMAX products are designed to deliver wireless broadband services to both residential customers and businesses by creating economies of scale made possible by standards-based, interoperable products.
