IPLogic, Inc. Recognized by Cisco as an Outdoor Wireless Mesh Authorized Technology Provider

ALBANY, NY--(Marketwire - March 3, 2008) - IPLogic, Inc., a leading communications technology solutions provider, announced today that it has achieved the Outdoor Wireless Mesh Authorized Technology Provider (ATP) status from Cisco. This designation recognizes IPLogic as having fulfilled the training requirements and program prerequisites to sell, deploy and support Cisco Outdoor Wireless Mesh solutions.

Municipalities around the world are broadening Internet access in order to improve community services and give public service employees, such as those in police, fire, and public works departments, highly secure access to the information they need in the field. This ATP program enables channel partners to provide reliable and highly secure Wi-Fi access using a high-performance, ruggedized platform that can be easily installed on streetlight posts and other outdoor locations.

"As a Cisco Gold Certified Partner, customers depend on proven expertise, both in a deployment environment and in the classroom," commented Ken Yanneck, president of IPLogic, Inc. "Our team of wireless mesh subject matter experts has not only completed the required training, but has already delivered solutions in several of our local markets. I am extremely proud of their accomplishments, and look forward to our ability to bring Cisco wireless mesh solutions to our clients on a much broader scale."

The redundancy of wireless mesh makes it an attractive solution to extending Internet access beyond traditional boundaries in local communities. In addition, wireless mesh networks can self-heal, providing an extremely reliable access solution to the community even when a node goes down, and particularly to public service personnel in emergency situations. It can scale to a large number of nodes, allowing a municipality to grow the network very easily over time.

"Cisco Authorized Technology Provider Partners are instrumental in helping our customers successfully deploy some of the most sophisticated networking solutions in the market today," said Edison Peres, vice president and chief go-to-market officer for Worldwide Channels at Cisco. "As a Cisco Outdoor Wireless Mesh ATP partner, IPLogic has received the training and demonstrates the expertise necessary to enable our joint customers to safely improve the delivery of critical community services using highly secure WiFi access and high-performance, ruggedized platforms."

IPLogic recently helped the city of Buffalo on an economic development initiative to provide free WiFi access in urban centers throughout western New York. Members of these communities will be able to access these hot spots thanks to a comprehensive network of wireless mesh nodes deployed around the city. The project is an initiative that will be rolled out to a variety of high-use areas.

To qualify for Outdoor Wireless Mesh ATP status, IPLogic had to meet a number of requirements, from fulfilling specific job responsibilities and achieving the Cisco Advanced Wireless LAN Specialization, to maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction. Partners are also required to build a lab for demonstration and customer-fault replication. The lab must contain current, upgraded and maintained Cisco Outdoor Wireless Mesh solutions configured for "real-world" testing to simulate actual end-user conditions.

The Cisco Authorized Technology Provider (ATP) Program is a key part of Cisco's emerging technology go-to-market strategy. The program helps define the knowledge, skills and services that channel partners like IPLogic need to successfully sell, deploy and support a subject technology. As markets mature and technologies progress along the adoption curve, some ATP programs may migrate to Cisco Specializations.
