IPv4 Market Group Announces Immediate Availability of IPv4 Inter-RIR Transaction Services

LEWISTON, NY--(Marketwire - Jul 25, 2012) -  IPv4 Market Group, a global leader in IPv4 sale and IPv4 lease, today announced the immediate availability of IPv4 inter-RIR transfer services. With ARIN's implementation of its ARIN-2011-1: ARIN Inter-RIR Transfers policy, transfers from the ARIN region to the APNIC region will be implemented no later than July 31, 2012.

IPv4 Market Group's transfer service will require the receiving entity in the APNIC region to request approval for the transfer from APNIC. The transaction will then be negotiated with an appropriate seller, and orchestrated using IPv4 Market Group's industry leading legal transfer paperwork, escrow services, and assistance through the Regional Internet Registry (RIR) steps.

"We believe a strong relationship with the global RIRs is key to effect the necessary change in the IPv4 marketplace to bring about open IPv4 trading," says Sandra Brown, President of IPv4 Market Group. "Now that APNIC has virtually no IPv4 addresses left to distribute, and RIPE will soon be in a similar position, and perhaps within two years ARIN, it makes sense to allow the entities in these locations to trade openly in an unfettered IPv4 secondary market."

To this end, IPv4 Market Group Senior Vice President Jeff Mehlenbacher has authored two ARIN policy proposals in an attempt to open the ARIN marketplace, and in so doing, open trade with other RIRs. The first proposal was to Proposal 165, to Eliminate Needs-Based Justification on 8.3 Specified Transfers. As the ARIN Advisory Council was not prepared to allow IPv4 purchase without needs justification, this proposal was rejected. Jeff has since penned a second proposal to Increase Needs-Based Justification to 60 months on 8.3 Specified Transfers, which would at least give companies more assurance of IPv4 supplies in their business planning cycles.

In the RIPE region, Sandra Brown is the co-author of two proposals, 2012-02, Policy for Inter-RIR Transfers of IPv4 Address Space, and 2012-03, Intra-RIR Transfer Policy Proposal, which will extend the transfer period for transfers from 3 months to 24 months.

In a video made at the RIPE 64 meeting in Ljubljana, Sandra described the need for inter-RIR transfers and how the ARIN region has more IPs per capita than the rest of the world. Now that ARIN is finally implementing its long awaited inter-RIR process, contact IPv4 Market Group today to purchase IPv4 blocks of many sizes.
