Iron Foundries to Reopen in Michigan and Tennessee on Strengthening Automotive Sector, an Industrial Info News Alert

SUGAR LAND, TX--(Marketwire - Sep 2, 2011) - Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas) -- ThyssenKrupp AG (ETR:TKA) (Essen, Germany) recently announced that the company is reopening its iron foundry in Etowah, Tennessee, while Michigan Steel Incorporated (Muskegon, Michigan) has followed suit with the announcement that it will reopen the recently purchased Rothbury, Michigan iron works.

Since June 2009, Industrial Info has tracked 14 U.S. iron foundries that have been closed or idled. However, the reopening of a casting plant in Virginia and the announcement of the two planned reopenings in Tennessee and Michigan might herald the resurgence of a once vibrant and strong supporter to the auto industry.
