IRON Search Equipment Section Grows to Include Prairie Farmer Magazine

Integrated Media Solution for Agricultural Equipment Sellers and Buyers to Connect is Now Available in Illinois

FENTON, MO and ST. CHARLES, IL--(Marketwire - September 29, 2009) - Prairie Farmer, the oldest continuously published magazine in the United States, is adding a new feature. Starting with October issues, Prairie Farmer will now feature the new IRON Search section that will include used tractors, combines, balers, sprayers, and additional farm equipment available for sale.

With the addition of IRON Search to Prairie Farmer, equipment listings are now available to readers in the nation's top three corn-producing states, and three of the largest soybean-producing states: Iowa, Nebraska and now Illinois.

Previously, IRON Solutions (, the leading online provider of equipment marketing and intelligence services for farm and construction equipment manufacturers, dealers and personal sellers, teamed up with Farm Progress Companies, the nation's leading agricultural media company, to provide IRON Search machine listings in Iowa's Wallaces Farmer and Nebraska Farmer magazines. With the addition of Prairie Farmer, IRON Search will now reach an audited circulation of more than 125,000 producer-subscribers each month.

"The IRON Search sections in our publications receive exceptionally positive feedback from our readers," says Jeff Lapin, Farm Progress Companies president. "The combined strength of Farm Progress's print and online content with IRON Search's online content continues to deepen our product offerings to users."

"Equipment dealers have seen the results of the IRON Search sections," adds Scott Derksen, IRON Solutions chief information officer. "It is a premium offering that delivers real buyers from audited circulation. Dealers advertising in the sections are realizing great equipment sales success in this new integrated media offering."

Like Wallaces Farmer and Nebraska Farmer, the new Prairie Farmer IRON Search section will bring used equipment listings from to an easy-to-find, used equipment print section in a market-transforming design. Sellers are freed of restraints placed on them in traditional shoppers, as the unique "IRON Number" code for each equipment ad connects the print medium to the Web, bringing unprecedented convenience to the buyer and advertising accountability to the seller.

The IRON Search sections were recently distributed to producers attending the 2009 Farm Progress Show, the nation's largest outdoor farm show, and 2009 Husker Harvest Days, the world's largest totally irrigated working farm show. Derksen cited producers' enthusiasm about the sections' trademarked organization of the equipment and easy to read listings.

"Unlike other print and online equipment sites, IRON Search and Farm Progress provide a complete snapshot of the equipment," says Derksen. "Real valuation data, factory specs and option prices from the industry's only trusted Official Guide empower equipment buyers to learn even more as they select from our massive inventory."
