Iron.io Named a 2016 "Cool Vendor" by Gartner

Platform as a Service (PaaS) "Cool Vendor" Offerings Continue to Expand Into Innovative Areas

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwired - May 24, 2016) - Iron.io, a leading provider of enterprise-grade job processing solutions, announced that it has been included in the list of "Cool Vendors" in the Cool Vendors in Platform as a Service, 20161 report by Gartner, Inc.

Gartner defines offerings in the cool vendor PaaS report as those providing platform innovations that meet the growing need for intelligent business operation with cloud levels of scale, agility and responsiveness.

Used by nearly 600 companies, including Turner, Whole Foods, Google, and Twitter, the Iron.io platform is backboned by IronWorker combined with IronMQ message queuing and IronCache key/value data store. All are managed with the IronDashboard for configuration and monitoring Iron.io processing solutions. Enterprises use the Iron.io platform to build serverless, event-driven ETL and job processing applications for use in IoT, media alerts, ecommerce, and medical devices.

"We are proud to be named as a 'Cool Vendor in Platform as a Service' by a leading analyst firm like Gartner," said Chad Arimura, co-founder and CEO of Iron.io. "We believe the Iron.io platform, built with a microservices architecture and utilizing Docker containers, is changing the way event-driven job processing is built and deployed. Gartner's recognition provides further validation that Iron.io offers a superior serverless experience for the modern enterprise."

Architects and developers benefit from the microservices approach that separates components into discrete functional elements or individual services. This model reduces complexity, while increasing scalability. Smaller, more granular compute services which can be developed and deployed independently are easier to maintain, repair, and update.
