IronPort Introduces "Insight and Action" Reporting System -- Optimized for Scalability and Extensibility

New "Threat Correlation Engine" Delivers Unprecedented Workflow-Based Insight in Real Time

SAN BRUNO, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- January 23, 2007 -- IronPort® Systems Inc., a leading provider of anti-spam, anti-virus, and anti-spyware appliances for business, today announced the availability of its "insight and action" reporting system, the next generation reporting system on IronPort gateway security appliances. Ever-increasing email and malware volumes, coupled with new regulatory compliance requirements, have driven the management burden to unprecedented levels. Deep, real-time visibility into security events remains critical to implementing security policies and protecting the network. The IronPort reporting system has unique reporting functionality that provides industry-leading scalability, unsurpassed manageability and an extensible architecture that will support both the IronPort Web and email security gateway appliances. Additionally, IronPort's next generation reporting system allows for simple integration with an organization's existing reporting tools, (such as HP OpenView) -- ensuring a perfect fit into any enterprise data center.

Manage Web and Email Threats

IronPort designed its next generation reporting system to have a unified framework for both web and email gateways. The design allows for comprehensive Web security reports such as anti-malware, L4 (Layer 4) traffic monitoring, client activity and Web reputation. It also provides a wide range of email security reports on incoming mail trends, individual user activity, virus outbreaks and compliance violations. The reporting system's "Threat Correlation Engine" tracks hundreds of different parameters, yielding an integrated set of data that is easily accessible for IT administrators to review and implement policy. This gives system administrators the ability to immediately respond to emerging threats and perform powerful trend analyses such as identifying top individual email senders, spam volume growth and statistics on virus outbreaks.

"The revolutionary new IronPort reporting system is the most scalable and flexible reporting system in the industry," said Tom Gillis, Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing at IronPort Systems. "It forms the core of IronPort Email Security Monitor™ and its counterpart, IronPort Web Security Monitor™ for our Web security appliance. Real-time reports on spam, virus, reputation filters, mail operations and more are all available in a matter of seconds. The solution provides the ability to communicate ROI information to management as often as needed."

A Framework for Today and Tomorrow

IronPort's new "insight and action" reporting system allows customers to scale their reporting solution to over 100,000 users, providing flexibility for both the smallest and the largest of organizations. With its action-oriented interface, administrators can easily access reporting trends, drill down to specific details on individual users and automatically generate reports and schedule delivery to management via email. The entire range of data can be easily exported via an API -- providing administrators with additional flexibility.

"Today's more sophisticated threats are looking to exploit any way into the corporate network," said Peter Christy of NetsEdge Research. "Forward thinking IT staff will be looking for solutions, like the IronPort suite of products, to address both email and Web threats in a comprehensive manner."
