According to Irving A. Backman, Acopia Harvest Principal, "Our state-of-the-art Green Machine® hydroponic system is able to grow nutritious, chemical free and pesticide-free leafy vegetables indoors, 52 weeks a year."

Acopia Director Amy Chauvin noted that "Over the past two years, the Project Sprout program has been implemented in over 60 schools, in six states, with the aim to teach children nationwide about self-sufficiency and nutrition with hydroponics so that they can, in turn, positively impact future generations and cultures."

"Eat Healthy Rhode Island" is aimed at educating young people on the importance of healthy eating, motivating them to celebrate their health and developing a culture among youth that supports wellness. "With childhood obesity on the rise, Eat Healthy Rhode Island offers a light-hearted but effective way to engage all Rhode Islanders around a critical public health issue," according to Linda Silva, President of the Picture of Children's Health board.
