Irving A. Backman's DATT Group's Hydroponics Solution to Low-Cost Food Production and New Opportunities for Small Farmers and Families Warmly Welcomed at 25th Annual Black Farmers National Conference

BIRMINGHAM, AL and DEDHAM, MA--(Marketwired - Nov 17, 2015) - Irving A. Backman, internationally renowned benefactor of sustainability and advanced technology initiatives and leader of the DATT Group (Developers of Advanced Technology Today) and partner companies Acopia Harvest International and NIEST presented breakthrough solutions to Global Warming and climate change at the National Black Farmers National Conference, held here recently.

According to Ameth Alzate, Director of International Business, Acopia Harvest, "We are a Rhode Island based sustainable technology company specializing in providing food education, production and protection through our accessible Hydroponics technology and social programs in both urban and rural areas. Our mission introduces affordable, manageable, and sustainable Hydroponics systems in schools, homes and small businesses across the nation and internationally. Our aim is to reduce carbon emissions to the environment via new cultivation and harvesting practices focusing on point of consumption implementing local grown and delivered produce.

NIEST - National Institute for Environmental Sustainability Training, directed by Dr. Gerald Austin Sr., promotes clean and renewable energy production, environmentally sustainable job creation, including hydroponic and fully local food production, workforce training and education, and major breakthrough energy solutions to reverse the global warming crisis. Dr. Austin created NIEST to promote Mr. Backman's and his shared "I Have a Dream" vision of green technology and environmentally sustainable holistic solutions.

Dr. Martin Luther King's "I have a Dream . . ." brought to life at the Black Farmers Conference in the historic City of Birmingham

The National Black Farmers Association (NBFA) is a non-profit organization representing African American farmers and their families in the United States. The Black Farmers Conference continues the celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King's famous "I have a Dream..." speech delivered in Washington, DC over 50 years ago.

Addressing the challenges of sustainability, Dr. Austin said, "Are we dreaming? Can independent, black farmers utilize enough innovative technology to make a difference? Naysayers have forgotten Selma, Tuskegee, and Atlanta, names embedded in our history as places where important change took hold that affects us today. The National Black Farmers 25th annual conference was held in Birmingham, Alabama because of its significant role in the civil rights movement.

"Solutions -- not slogans -- will make today's dream a reality," added Dr. Austin. "An example is The DATT Group's partner G & B Energy, Inc., soon to complete final independent test verifications of an advanced technology labeled the Energy Bank. This will produce and store electricity or power without any fossil fuels, precious, toxic, or costly metals or chemicals, and all components in plentiful supply within any area of the U.S.

"The Energy Bank could manufacture any amount of power from 1 kilowatt to 200 or more megawatts, and all with zero emissions to the environment," he concluded.
