Is Eating, Drinking and Having Fun Good for You? It is When You Do it With Us!-Ottawa

Canada's holistic nutritionists combine their knowledge and experience with local and celebrity chefs to create Feast of Flavour: Canada's Holistic Food Experience in four cities across Canada

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Aug. 29, 2011) - Canadians looking for new inspiration and discovery about food traditions from the past and the unique flavours of foods we love, need look no further: Canada's CAHN-Pro board certified holistic nutritionists are inviting Canadians to come and taste mouth-watering foods, wine and beer, savoury and sweet dishes, all designed and prepared by a few of the country's top chefs, junior chefs, holistic nutritionists and local / organic food companies at Feast of Flavour, Ottawa's Holistic Food Event.

Enjoying our love of food …with food that loves us back.

This multi-city experiential food event offers a day of tasting, learning and discussion about the therapeutic properties of traditionally prepared dishes we love and that how research can now confirm that the flavours in some of our favourite foods are also what provide the healing benefits.

"As holistic nutritionists, we want to share our knowledge about food with Canadians in a whole new way," says Jennifer Sexton, holistic nutritionist and chairperson, Feast of Flavour, Ottawa. "Tasting and experiencing the flavours of fresh, local dishes prepared using traditional techniques offers a great opportunity to talk about what our ancestors intuitively knew about preparing and preserving foods to maximize both the flavour and healing benefits."

In the time leading up to the Feast of Flavour events, CAHN-Pro is inviting Canadians to share their passion and knowledge about delicious ingredients and their own family's food traditions with other food lovers through an online blog forum at

"There are many food traditions from the past that are still part of our lives today. Through the Feast of Flavour online forum, we hope Canadians will share their family's own traditions and help us pay tribute to the food preparation techniques that may once have been used for survival, but over time have come to be appreciated for the flavour and benefits they give to the foods we enjoy today," adds Sexton.
