ISO to Host Media Briefing on Final Regional Energy Market Studies

After Months of Public Engagement, SB 350 Studies Set for Release July 12

FOLSOM, CA--(Marketwired - July 08, 2016) - The California Independent System Operator (ISO) is hosting a conference call to brief members of the media on studies assessing the potential impacts of a multi-state regional energy market in the West.

The ISO will post the completed Senate Bill 350 studies to its website at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, July 12, 2016. Following the release, ISO executives will host a call-in media briefing at 10 a.m. to explain the studies and answer reporters' questions.

The studies, a requirement of last year's Clean Energy and Pollution Reduction Act, SB 350, were conducted by leading experts in the fields of energy, environment and economics. The studies measured the impacts of a regional electricity market on California ratepayers, greenhouse gas emissions, the economy, the environment, disadvantaged communities, and integration of renewable energy resources.

The studies will also be discussed in greater detail during a joint, multi-agency public workshop on July 26, 2016, in Sacramento, CA.
