ISR Launches Commercial Division to Address Growing Thermal Issues in High-Performance Electronic Design

Tech Veteran Rob Savette to Head New Division as GM, VP of Marketing

LIBERTY LAKE, WA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- August 3, 2005 -- ISR, the maker of SprayCool™ technology and products, today announced that the company has launched a commercial division to address the growing problem of pervasive thermal issues in high-performance commercial electronics design.

The company also announced the hiring of Rob Savette as vice president of marketing and general manager of its new division. Savette is a technology veteran with more than 20 years of management experience with companies such as Sequel Technology, 1NService and TITAN Inc.

ISR's new commercial division will focus on solving four major problems -- heat, noise, space and reliability -- facing designers and users of high-performance commercial electronics and commercial deployments such as data centers, Savette said.

"Thermal issues are beginning to hamper technology performance in nearly every industry, particularly those industries that have large-scale technology deployments in data centers," Savette said. "Using SprayCool technology, our customers can substantially improve computing performance and reliability while dramatically reducing the size and scale of their data centers and overall technology designs.

"As a result, they are realizing marked improvements in performance and substantial cost savings."

SprayCool technology uses liquid evaporation, or phase change, of dielectric fluid to cool electronics. This provides revolutionary improvements in performance over existing cooling technology, enabling greater capabilities in electronics design. Data-center operators, for example, see a three-fold improvement in computing power after the installation of systems that use SprayCool technology.

"Commercial electronics manufacturers have traditionally been forced to design based on thermal constraints rather than their own vision," said Jeff Severs, president and CEO of ISR. "With the launch of our commercial division, we intend to eliminate that barrier and allow our customers to design products that use less energy and are faster, quieter, smaller and more durable."

ISR has successfully implemented SprayCool technology in military and government applications since 1988 and will utilize that experience in its commercial division, Severs said.

"The technology is essentially the same, but we wanted to wait until the market was ready for the commercial introduction of SprayCool technology," Severs said. "Electronics have now progressed to the point that thermal issues are the greatest setback in advanced designs and manufacturers are actively seeking a solution. What we provide is a disruptive technology that will revolutionize our customers' ability to design products, opening the door to a new generation of high-performance electronics."

Savette's deep background in technology and finance makes him an ideal candidate to lead the development and growth of ISR's commercial division, Severs said. In addition to his senior level technology experience, Savette also spent 10 years in Wall Street with American Express and E.F. Hutton.
