iStor Networks Appoints Industry Pioneer Kevin C. Daly as Chief Executive Officer

Former Avamar & Quantum/ATL CEO to Lead Storage Innovator's Growth

IRVINE, CA--(Marketwire - September 5, 2007) - iStor Networks, Inc.®, a leading manufacturer of network storage solutions, today announced that Dr. Kevin C. Daly, one of the data storage industry's most noted pioneers, has assumed the role of chief executive officer, expanding on his existing position as chairman of the board. Simon Huang, a founder of iStor, will assume the role of chief operating officer working with Mr. Daly to grow iStor on a worldwide basis.

Mr. Daly's prior experience includes a CEO post with Avamar Technologies, a venture funded start-up that evolved to become the industry's leading provider of data protection software with de-duplication. Avamar was acquired by storage giant EMC in 2006 for $165 million. Mr. Daly's background includes a five year tenure as CEO of ATL Products, Inc., the pioneer of the first open systems tape libraries. Under his guidance, ATL reached $400 million in annual revenue. ATL completed a successful IPO in 1997 and subsequently was acquired by worldwide tape drive leader Quantum Corporation in 1998. Mr. Daly remained CEO of the newly formed entity, Quantum/ATL, and eventually transitioned to CTO of Quantum's Storage Solutions Group, where he oversaw the development of the first disk-based virtual tape library.

"Kevin is an accomplished storage industry leader and technologist with over 30 years of experience helping young companies realize their full potential," said Simon Huang, co-founder of iStor Networks. "I strongly believe his unparalleled leadership, industry experience, acute market instinct, and inspiring people skills will lead iStor to tremendous success, as they did at ATL, Quantum, and Avamar."

Prior to joining iStor, Mr. Daly served as CEO of MAXxess Systems, Inc., a leading supplier of networked electronic security solutions. He holds a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Princeton University and continues to sit on its academic advisory board and is a member of the Dean's Advisory Council for the Bren School of Information and Computer Sciences at the University of California, Irvine. Mr. Daly also serves on the board of directors of several public and private companies.

"I believe the iSCSI protocol and the IP SAN technology represent a true inflection point in the storage business and I have expected from the beginning that iStor's unique intellectual property and technology would provide it a privileged position in the IP SAN market. The iStor team has had the foresight to develop not only the technology, but the relationships and partners that are necessary to become a real player in the storage market," said Kevin Daly, CEO, iStor Networks.

"iStor's IP SAN solutions will enable small and medium sized businesses, for the first time, to realize the full benefits of storage area networking. They can now leverage their existing investments in network infrastructure to deploy high-performance shared storage solutions throughout their organizations."
