IT Service Pioneer Mark Crall Joins Autotask to Expand User Community and Forge Added Strategic Partnerships

Industry's Best IT Business Management Platform Forms Business Unit to Expand Autotask's IT Service Partnerships and Alliances, Promotes Sherman

EAST GREENBUSH, NY--(Marketwire - September 30, 2009) - Autotask Corporation today announced IT services pioneer and innovator, Mark Crall, has joined the company as executive director of community and business development to be a catalyst for the growth of Autotask's IT Business Management Platform.

In his new role, Crall will lead the expansion efforts for Autotask's 30,000 strong and growing user community, forge new industry partnerships, and strengthen Autotask's tie into the broader IT Services community as part of a new business unit that reports directly to Autotask CEO Bob Godgart.

"Mark's decision to join our team not only represents a big win for Autotask, it's a win for the entire IT services community," says Godgart. "Mark was one the first recipients of our Autotask MVP award and has served as both a sounding board and mentor to Autotask's expansive community. He's a seasoned IT professional who understands what it takes to manage and run a successful IT services company."

In his new role, Crall will continue to serve as an evangelist for Autotask's community of users who regularly exchange ideas, best practices and use Autotask as a business development resource. As the former CEO of managed service firm, Charlotte Tech Care Team and 10-year IT veteran, Crall is driven by a passion for technology and affinity for small business owners. He is also the founder of the Charlotte Small Business Server Group and a subject matter expert for Microsoft Partner Talent and Development, producing exam and certification content.

Added Crall, "As a customer over the past five years, I have gained enormous respect for the company, the people, and the way Autotask has evolved its products to fill a void of IT service and business management practices. I'm thrilled to have some real resources behind me now to focus on my mission of strengthening and serving the IT service community."

Crall will also play a key role in a newly formed business unit designed to expand the scope of Autotask's strategic IT industry and vertical market partnerships, as well as the scope of Autotask integrations with new and emerging technologies.

Joining Crall in the new business development unit is Brian Sherman, who has been promoted to senior director of industry alliances. Sherman brings his extensive knowledge of the IT industry as a former trade publication editor, and will continue to serve as the primary contact for strategic industry relationships.

Godgart continues, "We place a premium on building partnerships and strategic relationships among leaders and innovators in our industry, and Brian has been instrumental in establishing Autotask's reputation as a great company to do business with. Having Brian and Mark working together will allow us to more quickly expand upon our Autotask advantages and move closer to delivering on our vision for using Autotask as an ultimate IT Services Command Center."

Crall will continue to work out of the Charlotte, NC area, while Sherman maintains his offices in Erie, PA.
