ITA Announces First Annual Women in Tech Forum

Female Tech Leaders to Gather for an Evening of Collaboration

CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwired - Oct 14, 2014) - The Illinois Technology Association (ITA) will be hosting its inaugural Women in Tech Forum to provide female technology leaders with the opportunity to discuss current technology trends with their peers.

This free event will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2014 at a Downtown Chicago location (provided after registration) from 6:00pm to 8:00pm and is open to any senior-level women in technology positions or executive women at tech-enabled companies.

"Over the past 15 years in the tech industry, I have seen many things change and that includes the growing participation of women. There's just one problem -- we're still not where we should be and that's not ok," said Fred Hoch, CEO of the Illinois Technology Association. "ITA is setting out to support women and shrink the gender gap in tech. In order to unite and bolster the power of female tech leaders in Chicago, we're putting together an annual Women in Tech Forum, allowing likeminded influencers to connect and collaborate. Without a doubt, it's set to be one of our most inspiring forums yet."

The Women in Tech Forum will begin with the opportunity for attendees to mingle and network with their fellow peers and a short introduction by the ITA. Small, moderator-led group roundtable discussions will then take place, covering the topics of attracting and retaining tech talent, Big Data, the Internet of Things, IT Management and Mobility and Information Security.

To register to attend this forum and for additional details, visit the event page at illinoistech.org/events/women-in-tech on the ITA website. The ITA would like to thank Cars.com for generously sponsoring this event.
