LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM--(Marketwire - Sept. 17, 2010) -

Editors Note: There are six photos associated with this Press Release.

Just six winners from a staggering 30,000 entries – showcasing a photo of every country in the world – have been chosen by an acclaimed photography panel and are now looking to break a Guinness World Record for the Biggest 20ft Photo Book known to man.

Celebrating turning 10 this year, PhotoBox challenged the nation with a competition to go around the globe in photos in 80 days, by simply entering their best loved travel snaps and holiday pics one continent at a time. Receiving over 1000 photos in its first weekend alone, this people powered project has captured people's imaginations and shown a UK in love with photography.

All walks of life, from mums to retired servicemen, to amateurs and pros; have together captured the raw spirit of the world's continents, offering real insights into the lives, landscapes and wildlife that makes each so unique.

Today, six of these extraordinary people behind the lens will be singled out as compelling winners, and their photography showcased to the media and art worlds as their work takes centre stage in their own exhibition at top London gallery, the Old Truman Brewery.

In this East End setting, these extraordinary photos along with 400 shortlisted entries will grace the pages of the biggest photobook in the world; a towering 20ft x13.8ft beast and a true 'Honey I Shrunk the Kids' experience for all ages.

As if this wasn't enough, the winners will be flown back to where it all began for them, courtesy of Thomson, with a trip to each of the continents of the world where their winning photo was captured.

On choosing the winners renowned judge Annabel Williams confessed: "I was amazed to see so many stunning images from all over the world - just shows what a talented planet we are! It's so hard to choose just a handful of winners. There are so many deserving photographers whose pictures are just incredible! It really was one of the hardest competitions I've ever judged"
