Kamloops resident San Hua will be cutting down his work hours after discovering he won the May 16th $2 million BC/49 jackpot.

The 44 year old cook purchased the winning ticket on Monday morning at Hasty Market on 8th Street in Kamloops. "I used the same special numbers I've been playing for the past year," said Hua.

"I checked my ticket this morning at the Check-A-Ticket. The lady at the Market said there was a winner in Kamloops, but I didn't tell her I won. They've known me for a long time, but they don't know I won yet…when they get the picture of me, they'll know!" he joked.

Hua says at first he thought he'd won $210.00, but he checked the machine a couple more times before realizing it was $2,010,125.00: "I just left the store with a big smile on my face. I was so excited and phoned my brother right away so he could drive me to BCLC. Tonight will be a big celebration!"

Hua says he will put his winnings in the bank first, but plans to buy a new house in Kamloops and take a vacation with his family overseas.

He is also going to be reducing his work hours to part-time.

BC/49 is a B.C.-only lottery game drawn on Wednesdays and Saturdays after 6 p.m. (PT) that gives players a chance to win up to $2 million for $1. Tickets can be purchased at any BCLC lottery retailer or online at www.PlayNow.com.
