The Government of Canada is providing $150,000 to the Imperial Theatre in Saint John


SAINT JOHN, NEW BRUNSWICK--(Marketwired - Sept. 16, 2016) - Department of Canadian Heritage

Wayne Long, Member of Parliament (Saint John-Rothesay), today announced $150,000 in funding for the Imperial Theatre. He made this announcement on behalf of the Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Canadian Heritage.

This funding, provided through the Canada Arts Presentation Fund, will help support the Imperial Theatre's performing arts series over the next three fiscal years. The multidisciplinary series will present an average of 40 performances a year, including theatre, dance, comedy, circus, music and film by regional, national and international artists.

  • The Imperial Theatre reaches an annual audience of up to 100,000 through its regular programming, in addition to 75,000 students for its school series and young audience programming.
