"IT'S TIME FOR PUBLIC CHILD CARE"

LIBERAL GOVERNMENT URGED TO PASS BILL 26 AT SECOND READING

Attention: Assignment Editor, City Editor, Media Editor, News Editor, Government/Political Affairs Editor TORONTO--(Marketwire - March 26, 2008) - 123 Busy Beavers is a recently incorporated Ontario company linked to the world's largest child care corporation, ABC Learning Centres in Australia, a company traded on the Australian stock exchange.

Child care advocates are concerned a corporate takeover of Ontario's child care will undermine quality and increase the costs of child care for parents. The Ontario Coalition for Better Child Care (OCBCC) and the Ontario Federation of Labour (OFL) recently toured nine Ontario communities to hold forums in support of Bill 26 and a not-for-profit child care system for Ontario.

New Democrat MPP, Andrea Horwath, has introduced legislation, Bill 26, to restrict new child care licenses to not-for-profit operators, while renewing licenses for existing for-profit operators. Bill 26 ensures that in the future, public money spent on child care goes to children, not profit, thereby making Ontario a less lucrative market for corporate child care providers.

Bill 26 is expected to be debated at Second Reading at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday March 27.
