IXI Technology Adds Tech Business Strategist Eugene Goda to Its Board of Directors

YORBA LINDA, CA--(Marketwired - Mar 11, 2015) - IXI Technology, an established leader in the design, manufacture and support of tactical data communications solutions for military and government agencies as well as industry, today announces the appointment of Eugene (Gene) L. Goda to its board of directors. For the past 20 years, Mr. Goda has served as an independent director and advisory board member for a wide variety of technology companies. In these positions, he helped guide the formulation of strategic initiatives to achieve market growth, operational efficiencies, acquisitions, increased valuations, and liquidity paths for shareholders.

"As the latest member of our IXI Technology board of directors, Gene is the epitome of a successful business technology executive. He offers seasoned managerial and governance experience in both the defense industry and private sector firms. We're very pleased to add Gene to our board as his strategic vision, stewardship and acquisition experience will help lead us to our next level of growth," said Michael Carter, CEO of IXI Technology.

Mr. Goda's defense industry experience stems from his executive management roles at leading firms such as Rockwell International, LightWorks Optics, Digital Resources, Meridian Software, Deterline, and Applied Devices. These firms serve a wide range of defense industry customers, such as the U.S. Navy, Army, FBI, DOJ, NASA, as well as defense contractors including Lockheed Martin, Hughes Aircraft, and BAE Systems. Additionally, he obtained valuable experience from serving on defense and security-related advisory boards such as Femtometrics.

At LightWorks Optics, he served as the lead director, helping to expand the board of directors with expertise needed to guide growth and diversification objectives to enhance valuation. The outcome exceeded expectations. LightWorks was subsequently acquired by II-VI, Inc., at an exceptional strategic valuation that provided liquidity to the founders and full vesting to the employee participants in the ESOP (employee stock ownership plan) of the company.

Mr. Goda received an Institutional Shareholder Services (ISS) certification through the Forum for Corporate Directors Institute, and training through Stanford University's Law School Directors College Program.

In addition to his current business activities, Mr. Goda assists various non-profit organizations. He serves as a judge of the annual High-Tech Innovation Awards, (presented by the OC-Technology Alliance -- formally Tech America/AeA, American Electronics Association). He was appointed Director Emeritus for his board service with the Forum for Corporate Directors. He authored a governance program for Aspiring Directors, which was launched at the University of California, Paul Merage School of Business and became the basis for an accredited EMBA course. In conjunction with this course, Mr. Goda has authored and conducts an annual governance simulation exercise called "The Directors."

Mr. Goda emigrated from Japan after WWII to serve in the United States Army, where he worked on analog computers. After his discharge, he managed a large computer complex for the University of Pennsylvania while attending the Wharton School to earn a Certificate of Proficiency.
