Ixia Demonstrates Automation Technology at NTAF Forum

Ixia Leads Compliance Demonstration With Draft NTAF Specifications

CALABASAS, CA--(Marketwire - November 16, 2010) - Ixia (NASDAQ: XXIA), a leading, global provider of converged IP network test solutions, today announced the successful interoperability demonstration at the Network Test Automation Forum's (NTAF) first-ever plugfest. Ixia is a founding member of NTAF, an industry forum launched earlier this year to develop and promote network automation interoperability standards, and a key leader in this endeavor.

The NTAF plugfest was organized to test and validate implementations of the NTAF pre-standard specifications. Multiple members participated, including leading carriers and equipment vendors such as Verizon and Cisco Systems respectively.

The interoperability tests demonstrated technologies and solutions from multiple vendors that auto-discovered and interoperated with each other using cloud-based services from diverse global locations. Ixia demonstrated its solution compliance both as an NTAF requester and as an NTAF provider. Ixia's Test Conductor -- an automation solution -- interoperated with both Ixia's equipment and other test solution provider devices. In a separate demonstration, Ixia's IxN2X network test solution interoperated seamlessly with other 3rd party automation products.

The demonstrations were conducted at NTAF's quarterly Board of Directors meeting, hosted via Cisco Telepresence and broadcasted to various global locations. NTAF also released a complete report outlining the technical details of the demonstrations.
