IXUS -- New 3D ICNIRP Compliance Management Software for Mobile Operators Uses HOOPS Technology to Deliver Enhanced Graphical Performance

STELLENBOSCH, SOUTH AFRICA and BERKELEY, CA--(Marketwire - September 18, 2008) - EMSS and Tech Soft 3D today announced the integration of HOOPS technology to provide users with enhanced graphical performance in the new IXUS 3D software.

Until recently the compliance industry was dominated by 2D simulation software applications that only performed parts of the compliance process. It is now possible to model mobile base stations in full 3D and calculate and display accurate ICNIRP non-compliance zones graphically for each base station in a network.

The IXUS suite uses the HOOPS® graphics platform and the Parasolid® Kernel Modeller linked up to the Qt UI development toolkit. The software features a state-of-the art EMF calculator, which has been optimized to run swiftly on a typical desktop computer.

"HOOPS® offered us an improvement in graphics acceleration without compromising on the quality of the models. The complete TS3D development platform along with excellent customer support and a dedicated consultant from TS3D made it possible to create a high quality product that simplifies the management of compliance from the planning phase right through to the verified base station," according to the development team at EMSS Consulting.

"The software is also very easy to use. You can create accurate 3D models using blueprints or the dimensions measured on site, then snap on ready-made elements like masts, fences, containers and ladders. The modelling software synchronizes with a central database and can be used out in the field as well as in the office. The central database stores all the information about each base station and automates the process of generating compliance reports and certificates," the development team said.

"IXUS is a great affirmation of the value Tech Soft provides by pre-integrating components such as HOOPS, Parasolid and Qt. By linking these robust libraries together we are able to help companies such as EMSS Consulting address new market opportunities by getting powerful applications developed in a very short period of time," said Ron Fritz, CEO of Tech Soft 3D.

IXUS was created by EMSS, a leader in electromagnetic simulation software products. It is available to download for a free 30-day evaluation at
