Izard Nobel LLP Announces Class Action Lawsuit Against Johnson & Johnson

WEST HARTFORD, CT--(Marketwire - September 29, 2010) - The law firm of Izard Nobel LLP, which has significant experience representing investors in prosecuting claims of securities fraud, announces that a lawsuit seeking class action status has been filed in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey on behalf of purchasers of the securities of Johnson & Johnson ("JNJ" or the "Company") (NYSE: JNJ) between October 14, 2008 and July 21, 2010, inclusive (the "Class Period").

The Complaint charges JNJ and certain of its officers and directors with violations of federal securities laws. Specifically, the Complaint alleges that JNJ failed to disclose and/or made misrepresentations concerning the following adverse facts: (i) beginning in April of 2008, defendants received numerous complaints that Tylenol products made at a manufacturing facility in Puerto Rico exhibited a "musty" odor, but failed to conduct an adequate investigation and notify the Food and Drug Administration; (ii) Defendants failed to take corrective action when foreign materials and contamination were found in a manufacturing facility in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania from May 2009 to April 2010. Similarly, defendants ignored 46 separate complaints of foreign materials in products from that facility; and (iii) when defendants learned of potential problems with one of its Motrin products, they sent contractors to stores to buy the product back and instructed contractors not to mention any recall.

If you are a member of the class, you may, no later than November 22, 2010, request that the Court appoint you as lead plaintiff of the class. A lead plaintiff is a class member that acts on behalf of other class members in directing the litigation. Although your ability to share in any recovery is not affected by the decision whether or not to seek appointment as a lead plaintiff, lead plaintiffs make important decisions which could affect the overall recovery for class members.
