J. P. King Auction Company to Sell 1,900-Acre Duck Hunting Property in West Tennessee

DYERSBURG, TN--(Marketwire - Jun 5, 2012) - Feather Hunting Preserve, a 1,900-acre premier, duck hunting property just north of Dyersburg, will sell at a real estate auction on June 21. The land will sell in three parcels, ranging from 416 acres to 939 acres. Ideally suited for hunting waterfowl, the acreage has miles of frontage on the Mississippi River.

"This property is a perfect place for duck hunting," said Craig King, president and CEO of J. P. King Auction Company. "It's surrounded by government-protected property, which makes Feather Hunting Preserve a prime location for hunting waterfowl along their migration route."

The land is primarily known for its mallard population, but black ducks, ring-necked ducks, gadwall, pintail, green-winged, teal, widgeon, wood duck and hooded merganser also occupy the area. Its borders consist of Reelfoot Lake to the north, White's Lake Refuge to the south, Lake Isom to the east and a rice field to the west.

The largest tract, which is the northernmost parcel of the property, is 939 acres. Parcels One and Two are 416 acres and 553 acres, respectively.

Feather Hunting Preserve is located in the Mississippi Alluvial Valley, which is a subset of the Lower Mississippi River Ecosystem. Complementing its floodplain terrain, the property also features extensive hardwood that is suited for flooded timber hunting.

The auction will take place on Thursday, June 21 at 11 a.m. at Dorthy's Restaurant, located at 100 S Headden Drive in Ridgley. Property previews are available by appointment through J. P. King For additional information, individuals may contact J. P. King at 800.558.5464 or visit the company's website at www.jpking.com.
