Jacobs Receives Air Force Design and Engineering Support Prime Contract

FT. WALTON BEACH, Fla.--(CCNMatthews - Aug 23, 2005) -

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE:JEC) announced today that a subsidiary company received a contract from the U.S. Air Force to provide rapid access to high-quality engineering and technical services. The Design and Engineering Support Program (DESP II), established primarily for use by the Air Force Materiel Command, is also available to all other Air Force Commands, Department of Defense agencies, and government entities having similar systems and needs.

As a DESP II prime contractor, Jacobs is one of ten companies approved to compete for work through this contract, which has a ceiling of $1.9 billion over a 7-year performance period. The Jacobs DESP II team includes 23 large business, small business, and academic partners offering a wide range of expertise.

In making the announcement, Jacobs President Craig Martin stated, "We are pleased to continue our long history of partnership with the U.S. Air Force. This contract allows us to strengthen our position with the Air Force and other government agencies who seek the unique engineering and technical expertise available through our team."
