JacobsRimell Joins TM Forum's OSS/J Initiative to Contribute to the Development of the Order Management API

BOSTON, MA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- March 20, 2007 -- JacobsRimell (JR), the leading provider of subscriber-centric IP service fulfillment solutions, has joined the OSS/J, (OSS through Java™ Initiative), a technical program of the TeleManagement Forum (TM Forum). JR will significantly contribute to and manage the acceleration of the development of the Order Management API.

Since inception, JR has adopted a standards-based approach to product development and has worked hand in hand with customers to drive specific standards in their implementations.

An active member of the TeleManagement Forum, JR will contribute to the OSS/J Order Management API User Guide documentation, lead the OSS/J Order Management API documentation sub-team and play a key role in the OSS/J Order Management bug reporting and fix process.

JR's development work with the OSS/J Order Management standards allow operational systems and processes fast and standardized access to JR's SID compliant information repository for Product, Services and Resource queries.

"JacobsRimell is well-suited to take a leadership role in the OSS/J program as the company has a proven track record in the telecommunications and cable markets," said Martin Creaner, TM Forum President. "JacobsRimell brings a wealth of experience which will be extremely valuable to the OSS/J initiative."

"As telecom operators focus on introducing new services and converging previously siloed approaches to service fulfillment and order management, a standards-based approach needs to be in place," said David Jacobs, CTO and Co-Founder, JacobsRimell. "We are 100% committed to OSS/J's goals to define and implement an open, standard-based set of APIs to interface into and across existing OSS systems, enabling operators to more quickly offer next-generation services."

OSS/J APIs are standardized under the latest Java Community Process (JCP) program and aligned with the TM Forum's Next Generation Operations Systems and Software (NGOSS) framework. The deliverables for each API consist of specifications, reference implementations and technology compatibility kits -- all of which, including source code, are made available free of charge.
