Jacynthe Cote, CEO of Rio Tinto Alcan, to Highlight the Inaugural Aluminum Summit in New York


NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - March 17, 2011) - On June 6th-8th, a remarkable cast of executives will meet in New York City for the inaugural Aluminum Summit, supported by leading industry publication American Metal Market.

Jacynthe Côté, chief executive officer of Rio Tinto Alcan, will give the highlight address at the Summit, which will focus on the opportunities and challenges facing the aluminum industry. The event will also be anchored by 2011 keynote Klaus Kleinfeld, chief executive officer of Alcoa, and a live on-stage interview with president and chief operating officer of leading rolled products producer Novelis, Phil Martens.

Laurent Schmitt, chief executive of Aluminum Company of Bahrain; Christel Bories, chief executive of Alcan Engineered Products; Jean Simon, president of Primary Metal North America; Rio Tinto Alcan and John Thuestad, president of Alcoa Global Primary Products, Alcoa will sit on an executive panel to be chaired by former Rio Tinto Alcan chief executive, Dick Evans.

Other aluminum producers to be represented include Rusal, Norsk Hydro and Dubai Aluminium who will be joined by aluminum rollers and extruders such as JW Aluminum, Sapa and Bonnell Aluminium. The Summit will also hear from key end user such as Ball Corp., General Motors and Boeing.
