Jade Marketing Looks at the Impact of the Snow on UK Businesses

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM--(Marketwire - Jan. 14, 2011) - Staff at Jade Marketing in Bristol carried on through the freezing December, but recent retail updates from high streets and supermarkets go on to use snow as an excuse for underperforming on their targets.

Asked about the latest cold spell, Jade Marketing's Managing Director Odette Green comments "Everyday I'm hearing 'it's so cold' or 'The snow is going to be awful to drive in'. Well somehow they survive in Canada and Switzerland; it would be great if everyone just decided to look at the bright side of life." With the current financial climate on its way up, "people are spending twice as much money as this time last year and so what is there to complain about? Or is it that it's in the English blood to talk about weather?"

Supermarkets were not the only ones who generally fared well during the challenging weather conditions last month. Recent reports show that Sainsbury and Tesco have mixed messages towards the impact of snow last year.
