Jahia Adds HTML5 Support for Delivery of Rich User Experience

Next-Generation CMS in Forefront of Emerging Standards Related to Rich User Experience and Mobile Access

GENEVA, SWITZERLAND and WASHINGTON, DC--(Marketwire - March 22, 2011) - Jahia, provider of the next gen Java-based open source CMS software combining web, document, and portal, search and social features, today announced the addition of HTML5 support to the Jahia 6.5 beta. The move puts the next-generation Jahia platform in the forefront of fast emerging standards related to rich media delivery for web and mobile devices.

"Our open source JAVA CMS gives web designers full autonomy to employ a wide variety of scripting languages, including Velocity, PHP and JSP. Jahia was always able to support a wide variety of markups such as XML, WML or even old version of HTML as well as supporting multiple character encodings such as UTF-8. The addition of support for the emerging HTML5 language gives them a new, modern, and flexible markup for delivering multimedia and graphical content, without the need to deal with proprietary plug-ins and APIs," adds Serge Huber, CTO and co-founder of Jahia Solutions Group SA.
