JAJAH Powers Telefonica's International Calling Drive in UK

Telefonica's O2 UK Targets $2.25 Billion Long Distance Calling Market With JAJAH-Powered Service

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA--(Marketwire - October 12, 2010) - O2, the UK's largest mobile operator, announced today it is aiming to double its market share of international calling with the launch of International Favourites, a JAJAH-powered solution that lets O2 customers dial a local number to call friends and family abroad.

The JAJAH IP Communications Platform gives O2 the ability to bring a wide range of innovative new calling solutions and enhanced voice services to more than 20 million O2 customers in Europe, dramatically cutting the cost of long distance calling from mobile phones.

In addition to dialing a local number to call internationally, O2 International Favourites customers can also give their international friends and family a local number, in over 40 countries, to call back to the UK.

Ronan Dunne, UK Chief Executive of O2: "With International Favourites we have used the innovation that the JAJAH acquisition brought us to create a genuinely unique proposition which offers a fresh approach to the market. It gives our customers a great value and convenient option for connecting with their friends and families abroad through their mobiles."

Trevor Healy, JAJAH CEO: "JAJAH is helping the UK's most successful mobile operator to continue to lead its competitors, offering a simple, affordable calling solution that helps their customers stay in touch. This is a great example of how the JAJAH IP Communications Platform can be used by O2 to drive market share and customer loyalty."

International Favourites will be supported by major mainstream marketing and advertising campaign, the first of its kind for an IP calling solution anywhere in the world, reflecting the growing appeal of communications 2.0 services.

The launch of International Favourites follows the acquisition of JAJAH by Telefonica Europe, which also owns O2. Earlier this year a similarly JAJAH-powered solution was launched by O2 Germany which has been extremely successful.
