James Burke Joins Private Healthcare Systems as Regional Vice President

WALTHAM, MA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- May 10, 2005 -- Private Healthcare Systems (PHCS) today announced the appointment of James Burke to Regional Vice President.

Mr. Burke brings more than thirty years health care experience to his role as Regional Vice President. He will be responsible for the general management of Network Development for the Northwest and Southwest Regions, which are based out of the Irvine and Seattle offices, including the planning and implementation of development strategies and tactics.

Mr. Burke comes from Pacific Life and Annuity, where he served in a variety of positions, most recently as Vice President of Health Networks. Mr. Burke developed and implemented Pacific Life's managed care strategy, products, claims financial management, risk arrangements, network relationships and alliances. He was instrumental in the development of some of the earliest PPO networks, case management and utilization review programs. He managed all health care network development and coordination and under his management, Pacific Life and Annuity's networks expanded to 45 states. Additionally, Mr. Burke served on the PHCS Board of Directors for almost a decade representing Pacific Life and Annuity.

Mr. Burke holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Loyola University.
