Janet Moyer Landscaping Announces Full Schedule of Spring Garden Tours for 2011

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - April 5, 2011) - Janet Moyer Landscaping (JML), a full service landscaping company in San Francisco devoted to addressing the unique challenges of urban garden constraints, will be featured in three of the city's most prominent garden tours during this spring 2011.

On May 14 at 10 am, the Victorian Alliance will feature four gardens designed, built and maintained by JML. These "gardens with a past" are located on properties with Victorian homes in and around the Mission and Noe Valley neighborhoods and were built in the early 1900s. In keeping with sustainable gardening practices for residential landscapes, Janet Moyer infused each garden with plant materials and hardscapes to produce gardens that are easy for busy families to maintain and enjoy. Whenever possible she chooses plants that will attract birds, butterflies and other "good bugs" into the landscape. The tour is open to the public; tickets are $50 and may be purchased by email to tickets@victorianalliance.org. Over the years, the Victorian Alliance has provided grants to local organizations such as the Palace of Fine Arts and Sherith Israel in support of its mission, which is to support the restoration and preservation of historic buildings, landscapes and artifacts through advocacy and education.

On May 21 from 10 am to 3 pm, the Noe Valley Garden Tour will feature eight gardens including two residential landscapes designed by Janet Moyer, founder and president of JML. The tour is open to the public with the purchase of tickets ($15 for general admission; $10 for seniors 65+) that go on sale on April 30 on the Friends of Noe Valley website (www.friendsofnoevalley.com) and at neighborhood stores. Proceeds will go to a beautification project in Noe Valley.

On June 4 from 10 am to 2 pm, the San Francisco Botanical Garden Society will feature a tour that emphasizes how "Residential Gardens Provide Respite from a Noisy City." This tour includes four Janet Moyer-designed gardens, both large and small, that are located in several neighborhoods on the north side of San Francisco. Each one receives high marks for providing sustainability and beauty without effort. Plants were chosen for low maintenance and year-round attractiveness. All gardens utilize smart irrigation controllers to maximize low water usage. Cost of the tour is $50 for members and $65 for non-members.
