Jawad Rathore, president and managing director of Phoenix Credit Risk Management Consulting (Phoenix CRMC) presented the Raptors Foundation for Kids with a $50,000 cheque during halftime of the Raptors vs. Milwaukee game Friday, January 30.

This cheque is the largest individual donation the Raptors Foundation for Kids has received since its inception in 1995. Rathore's donation is a leadership gift. The money will help fund legacy projects and programs supported by the Raptors Foundation for Kids, such as Court Refurbishments, Reading and Learning Centres, Student Scholarships and Give-a-Kid-a-Game.

"On behalf of the Toronto Raptors and the Raptors Foundation for Kids, we would like to thank Jawad for his very generous donation," said Lori Radke, executive director of the Raptors Foundation for Kids. "Jawad is a tremendous ambassador for our Foundation and his commitment has made a meaningful difference for our community and at-risk youth."

"I've always felt it's important to give back as much as possible and that's why I am thrilled to support the Raptors Foundation for Kids," said Rathore. "Basketball is a great way to learn so many of life's true lessons: the value of teamwork, persistence, hard work and to never let a win go to your head or a loss to your heart."

Rathore, an avid Raptors fan, has been a season seat holder since 2007. He has been an annual donor and event attendee for several years. His gift comes from his desire to give back to the community; to provide kids with safe places to learn and grow; the opportunity for education through student scholarships and the chance for kids to attend Raptors games.

The Raptors Foundation for Kids is committed to helping at-risk youth across Ontario through legacy projects and grants. The Raptors have been long-standing community leaders demonstrating a strong commitment to at-risk youth and charities supporting similar causes. Since the team's inception, the Raptors Foundation for Kids has raised more than $17 million and helped over 5,500 youth charities. The Raptors Foundation for Kids is the number one fundraising charity in the NBA.
