Jay Franco & Sons, Aquarius Entertainment Merchandising & Scholastic Books Give a Big Thumbs-Up to Thumb Wrestling Federation: TWF

HIDDEN HILLS, CA--(Marketwire - February 12, 2009) - The hit Cartoon Network series Thumb Wrestling Federation: TWF expands its licensing roster with the addition of three new licensees. Jay Franco & Sons, Aquarius Entertainment Merchandising and Scholastic Books join master toy licensee Think Wow Toys US and previously announced US licensees, Mad Engine, Berkshire Fashions and Dream Apparel.

Jay Franco & Sons will develop a full line of bedding, throws, pillows, bath and beach towels and accessories, as well as slumber bags; Aquarius Entertainment Merchandising will distribute posters, calendars, puzzles and playing cards; and Scholastic Books will publish an inside-the-ropes look at the history, stars, and action of the TWF with their Official TWF "Thumbbook."

TWF launched in the US last November with series bouts airing Monday thru Friday, and a half hour recap airing on Saturday mornings. The live action sports spoof has continued to build its viewership week by week, particularly with its core audience of boys 6-11. Cartoon Network recently branded their entire Saturday morning block, from 8-12 Noon, as the Saturday Crush Zone. During this prime four-hour period, series announcers Dick Thompson and wrestling legend Colonel Cossack take viewers in and out of commercial breaks with their TWF talk. Kids can continue the excitement by reviewing matches and other exclusive content at http://twf.cartoonnetwork.com.

Thumb Wrestling Federation: TWF is a creation of Larry Schwarz and is produced by his New York-based independent studio, Animation Collective. The show chronicles the wacky exploits of two teams of masked wrestling thumbs -- the noble Mighty Dexteras and their arch enemies, the evil Sinistras -- in a fast-paced, thumb-to-thumb competition. In addition to the individual bouts, hysterical wrestler biographies and special features are all part of the wrestling series.

Worldwide licensing agent, Al Ovadia, of Al Ovadia & Associates, is delighted with TWF's progress: "We are thrilled to add this terrific group of licensees to our program. TWF has captured the hearts, minds, and thumbs of kids across America and it shows all the signs of becoming the next great licensing phenomenon."

About Thumb Wrestling Federation: TWF

TWF features hilarious, action-packed bouts of thumb wrestling between truly zany contestants. The short-format segments include three-and-a-half-minute thumb wrestling matches, one-minute wrestler bios and 45-second gags. The competition revolves around 56 original characters who fight for two teams -- the "Mighty Dexteras" and the evil "Sinistras" -- in a match-up of good versus evil.
