Jay Lex Releases Debut EP

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - Sep 9, 2014) - Music Artist, Jay Lex, released his debut EP today, "Meant To Be," which is available for download on his website jaylexmusic.com. The set is infused with eight tracks which capture the passion of striving for more in life. Coupled with poignant lyrics and charismatic production, this album will draw you in and leave you wanting for more. Jay Lex states his musical inspiration for this record was heavily influenced by artists Raheem DeVaughn, Joe and Musiq. The first single and video, "No Fairy Tales," featuring Rob Scott, released on July 24, 2014 received considerable recognition from his fans and industry professionals.

Jay Lex states, "I create music that reflects my dreams, fears, insecurities and aspirations...my successes and my failures. My hope is that people who listen to my music have some kind of emotional response. I want people that listen to my music to hear and see themselves in it. The most powerful music is relatable. I want my music to empower and inspire."

The second video, "Till Now," also released today, directed by Kaleb Adams and Llama, is a perfect follow up to "No Fairy Tales" both of which have a strong R&B tone. Although this is Jay Lex's debut EP, he has been able to deliver quality music to his fans through the use of digital media in the past. By enabling direct downloads on his site, he offers a unique approach to allow his fans to be the first to listen, view and engage with him. In the age of social media where fans have an insatiable appetite for direct communication with the artists they follow, Jay Lex is on the forefront of reaching out to his loyal fans first.

Grammy Award Winning Songwriter/Producer, Kaleb "KQuick" Rollins says, "Jay Lex represents the best of the old and the new. The vision for his music is clear - he has created a sound that is contemporary and innovative, but true to the 90's Hip Hop and R&B that we all know and love. The industry needs more of what Jay Lex has to offer." Jay Lex is an artist who thrives on evolving and challenging himself. The creative process behind "Meant To Be," has given him an opportunity to inspire his audience with themes that explore love, honesty, happiness and confidence, as well as loss, anger and fear.
