JDSU Demonstrates World's First End-to-End 16 G Fibre Channel System at Interop and EMC World 2011

JDSU Xgig and MLTT Test Suite Provide Critical Test Capabilities to Bring Next-Generation Storage Network Equipment to Market as Growth in Cloud Computing and Other Network Traffic Rises

MILPITAS, CA--(Marketwire - May 9, 2011) - Leading the Fibre Channel (FC) test market for more than a decade with the versatile Xgig test solution, JDSU (NASDAQ: JDSU) (TSX: JDU) today announced its participation in multiple storage network technology demonstrations at both Interop and EMC World 2011 taking place this week, May 9-12, in Las Vegas.

JDSU 16 G Fibre Channel with Emulex

In conjunction with Emulex, the leader in converged networking solutions for the data center, JDSU is part of the first public demonstration of an operational end-to-end 16 G Fibre Channel system comprised of the JDSU Xgig test solution and the recently announced Emulex XE201 I/O Controller. The 16 G Fibre Channel demonstration is being showcased at both EMC World 2011 (Emulex booth #1118) and Interop (JDSU booth #2429).

16 G Fibre Channel is a critical technology required to meet the increase in cloud computing demand and tremendous growth of fixed and mobile voice, video and data traffic driven by social networks, remote applications, and Internet commerce. With the Xgig, the industry's leading name for Fibre Channel testing, JDSU continues to deliver the advanced solutions needed by storage equipment manufacturers, field service engineers, and data center IT professionals to effectively maintain, provision, and access the next-generation storage equipment critical to running today's businesses.

JDSU launched the 16 G Fibre Channel Analyzer blade for the Xgig 5000 in December of 2010, providing the market with the world's first complete 16 G Fibre Channel test solution. The Xgig now offers a new 4-port blade as well as advanced Jammer and Load Tester capabilities, making it the only tool enabling NEM storage vendors to solve difficult 16 G design issues and ensure robust performance while getting products to market in the shortest possible time. Vendors can also share traces with their eco-system partners to facilitate interoperability testing as additional 16 G Fibre Channel equipment comes to market.

JDSU Medusa Labs Test Tools (MLTT) with Dell iSCSI over DCB

JDSU is also taking part in a demonstration with Dell highlighting their latest iSCSI over DCB data center storage technology within their EqualLogic storage solution operating in a converged network environment. EqualLogic's iSCSI over DCB leverages the enhancements characterized as Data Center Bridging (DCB) technology, adding the reliability that Enterprise customers require for their data center storage needs. Dell is currently leveraging JDSU's recently released new-generation Medusa Labs Test Tools (MLTT) 5.0 test suite to provide advanced analysis and benchmarking capabilities of storage systems characterizing the impact of sharing the bandwidth with other applications. This demonstration will take place at Interop (Dell booth #1651).

In addition, as a member of the Ethernet Alliance, JDSU will also be part of a live demonstration at Interop at the Ethernet Alliance booth (#2358) to showcase some of the latest products developed for use in next-generation data centers.
