JDSU Licenses Media Delivery Index (MDI) for Video Quality of Service (QoS) Metrics From IneoQuest

Leading Firms in Video Field Turn to IneoQuest's Video Delivery Performance Indicator for Comprehensiveness and Ease-of-Use

MANSFIELD, MA--(Marketwire - October 12, 2010) -  IneoQuest Technologies, Inc., the global leader of intelligent video quality and service assurance solutions, today announced that it has signed a licensing agreement with JDSU for the use of IneoQuest's Media Delivery Index (MDI) metrics (described in the RFC 4445) on JDSU's systems. Along with JDSU, Sunrise Telecom, PacketStorm Communications and VeriWave have recently joined the expanding list of IneoQuest's MDI licensees.

IneoQuest's MDI metric describes with simplicity and power the behavior of video transport in networks. The technology further provides a network margin indication that warns system operators of impending operational issues, allowing system operators to proactively troubleshoot impairments that would, if left untreated, result in unacceptable video delivery. Moreover, only IneoQuest's MDI technology measures network jitter on constant and variable bitrate streams. In sum, IneoQuest's MDI technology assures the health and quality of systems by providing a predictable, repeatable measurement. These compelling benefits, along with MDI's low cost of implementation and exceptional ease-of-use, have made IneoQuest's MDI metric quickly become the key performance indicator for video delivery networks.

"We are proud that JDSU has chosen to license and implement our patented MDI technology, and, therefore, join our growing list of licensees," said Marc Todd, president and CEO, of IneoQuest. "Video service providers and equipment manufacturers worldwide use MDI to verify the performance of equipment and network deployments, as well as manage live end-to-end service assurance on video networks. In our view, MDI technology provides the best QoS measurement of video over IP networks, and JDSU's adoption further opens the market to these benefits."
