Jeffrey Durand Named Vice President of Professional Services for Black Duck Software

Durand to Strengthen Black Duck's Integration and Distributed Deployment Services for Rapidly Growing Base of Global Enterprise Clients

WALTHAM, MA--(Marketwire - April 28, 2009) - Black Duck Software, the leading global provider of products and services for accelerating software development through the managed use of open source software, today announced that Jeffrey Durand has joined the company as vice president (VP) of professional services. Durand comes to Black Duck with more than 15 years of software industry experience developing and delivering successful professional services programs for the deployment and integration of software solutions across globally distributed enterprises.

Durand joins Black Duck in the new role of VP of professional services at a time when an increasing number of businesses are relying on open source software to improve the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of the software development process. Black Duck experienced 42 percent growth in bookings performance and 27 percent growth in services in the Q1 2009 period. Much of Black Duck's growth has been fuelled by an expanding base of global enterprise clients in need of Black Duck's open source software management products, services and expertise. Durand will be responsible for defining and implementing broader customer solutions, and for introducing the next level of professional services to support enterprise-scale integration and distributed deployment of Black Duck's software.

Prior to Black Duck, Durand served as VP of professional services at SupplyScape Corporation. Durand managed a highly successful professional services organization supporting clients using SupplyScape's pharmaceutical supply chain software solution deployed in manufacturing, wholesaling and retailing enterprises across the U.S.

Previously, Durand held VP and director-level professional services positions at Sentillion, Inc., JDA Software Group Inc./Engage Inc. and Channel Wave Software, Inc. where he managed professionals services organizations for global clients, providing pre-sales support, customer implementations, consulting, help desk and training services.

Durand graduated with Merit from the United States Naval Academy where he earned a B.S. in Naval Architecture.
