Jen Crane, Annika Sibert and Mike Weston will find their very own Kokanee can chilling in beer fridges across Western Canada next year after the three winners beat out hundreds of entries to win the Kokanee Crank the Can design contest. The winning entries, which will be featured in a limited edition Kokanee Crankworx can series in 2010, were announced yesterday at the final slopestyle event at Kokanee Crankworx.

"I am so excited to win. It's so cool to know that my can will be in the hands of beer drinkers all over Western Canada," says Jen Crane, a Kokanee Crank the Can contest winner from Sylvan Lake, Alberta. "This contest was a great way for me to share my designs and love for Kokanee with other fans."

Kokanee asked fans to submit designs that captured the fun and active summer lifestyle of Western Canada that is integral to both Kokanee beer and Kokanee Crankworx. Each of the winners took this direction and made it their own, creating unique, eye-catching cans. Jen's design featured striking black and white contrasts, with a crowd of people as the back drop, representing the vibe of Whistler. Annika's design played up the extreme fun that is Kokanee Crankworx with tire tracks and a crowd scene at the base of the mountain, and Mike made his design pop with an orange Kokanee Crankworx biker and mountain scenery.

"We were really impressed by the creativity and quality of designs entered in the contest, it really speaks to how passionate people are towards Kokanee" says Rich Fortin, National Marketing Manager for Kokanee. "Kokanee is a brand that loves to get people involved and the Crank the Can design contest provided a great outlet for that."

The Kokanee Crank the Can design contest celebrates Kokanee's three-year renewal of their title sponsorship for Kokanee Crankworx. The contest opened on June 15 on www.facebook.com/kokanee and saw hundreds of budding designers submit original designs over a five week period.

Kokanee narrowed down the entries to six finalists and treated them to an unforgettable extreme VIP experience at this year's Kokanee Crankworx, the annual mountain biking festival in Whistler, BC that wrapped up yesterday. Kokanee fans then decided the three winners by voting on Facebook. Visit www.facebook.com/kokanee to view the winning entries.
