Jewelry Trends Warm Up Fall Fashion

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - September 29, 2014) - With fall officially upon us and summer days behind us, attention moves to fall fashion. Don't just focus that attention on fall clothing and shoes to update your seasonal style. Like clothing, there are jewelry trends that will shape your wardrobe and define your look for the season ahead. Jewelers of America (JA), the national association for businesses serving the fine jewelry industry, has uncovered the top jewelry trends for the season.

"For centuries, jewelry has been celebrated as an important part of fashion," says JA Spokesperson Amanda Gizzi. "This season, we are seeing bold color and whimsical statement jewelry taking center stage."

Jewelers of America defines the jewelry trends for fall as the following:

Instant Messaging -- The old expression "wear your heart on your sleeve" is getting an update thanks to the new message-focused jewelry accessories and pendants. Now self-expression can be found hanging around your neck. Whether it is your favorite word, mantra or special messages, personalized message jewelry is quickly becoming a way to express yourself in style.

Enamel Jewelry -- Fall fashion trends are focused on graphic patterns and vibrant colors, and enamel jewelry -- with its endless range of color possibilities -- is once again in the accessories spotlight. Jewelry designers are making new use of an ancient jewelry technique and using enamel to add color and pattern to their jewelry designs. The enamel jewelry trend can be seen in everything from playful statement charms to sophisticated gemstone pieces.

Tanzanite -- Matching gems to fall's top colors is another way to stay on trend. Tanzanite, a pretty purple-blue gemstone, has the perfect blend of two of Pantone's fall 2014 color picks: Radiant Orchid and Dazzling Blue. In addition to its apparent beauty, tanzanite's rarity and rich history make it an even more desirable gemstone. Tanzanite is known to be 1,000 times rarer than a diamond because it is found in only one place on earth -- deep in the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, East Africa. Tanzanite is a great gemstone for fashion seekers, gemstone lovers and those that appreciate the beauty of color.
