Jilbey Gold Exploration Ltd.: RC Drilling Results Continues to Extend Gold Mineralization at Bissa

BEDFORD, NOVA SCOTIA--(CCNMatthews - May 26, 2005) - Jilbey Gold (TSX VENTURE:JLB) has received assays for another 17 Reverse Circulation (RC) holes from ongoing drilling on the Bissa project. This RC drilling, designed to follow up at greater depths the results of previously reported Rotary Air Blast (RAB) drilling, was carried out over the four kilometer Bissa - Gonglou section of the 30 kilometer Sabce Shear Zone. Significant gold values include 20 meters of 3.79 g/t Au, 5 meters of 13.84 g/t and 4 meters of 17.2 g/t Au.

Highlights of the current results are reported below while all the intersections are presented in Table 1. For maps showing drill hole locations and detailed drill results of all holes, please visit http://www.jilbey.com and go to the "press release" section.

The appended map of the 4 km Bissa-Gonglou section of the 30 km Sabce Shear Zone shows the soil geochemical anomalies previously identified, the significant RAB drilling results from initial testing of these anomalies and the locations of the RC holes drilled to test the extension of the gold intersections reported from the RAB drilling. The significant assays from the RC drilling are shown in a chart on the map.

Work to date has shown the Bissa mineralization to extend for at least 5.5 kilometers within the 30 kilometer Sabce Shear Zone ("SSZ"). Several additional significant geochemical anomalies have been identified along the remainder of the SSZ and these are currently being followed up.

Greg Isenor, President and CEO of Jilbey Gold stated "These are very significant results! We have just released the first 17 holes of a 28 hole RC drill program, designed to test the depth and strike potential of gold anomalous RAB drilling intersections in the Bissa Gonglou Corridor. This drilling has been successful and has confirmed gold at depth. The program is continuing. It now appears that there are another four kilometers of the Sabce Shear Zone showing the very real potential to generate resources similar to the Bissa Deposit. It should be kept in mind that Jilbey has an additional 25 kilometers of the gold anomalous Sabce Shear Zone to drill and we are now in the process of grooming this additional 25 kilometers for drilling. The drilling success rate we have been experiencing on the Bissa property and the Sabce Shear Zone to date exceeds our expectations and, the extent of the favourable target area confirms management's contention that the Bissa property could have multi-million ounce potential. We will continue our RC drill program and add a diamond drill rig in June with the intention of updating our 43-101 resource estimate prior to year end."

Sampling of the RC drilling is completed over one-metre intervals. Approximately 20 kilograms of cuttings are recovered for each interval. The RC chips are logged and bagged at the drill site. From each original sample, a sub-sample of 2 kg is produced, using a single-stage Jones riffle splitter and repeated passes with the final sub-sample being systematically obtained from the right side of the splitter. Samples obtained are placed in individual plastic bags. All sampling tools are cleaned between samples. The RC rejects are stored at Jilbey's guarded camp. Preparation and gold analysis of the drilling samples are performed at Abilab West Africa S.A.R.L. in Bamako, Mali. Samples are analyzed for gold by fire assay on 50g sub-sample with an atomic absorptions spectroscopy (AAS) finish. A gravimetric finish is performed systematically on samples containing more than 5 g/t Au. In addition to the usual internal laboratory Quality Assurance and Quality Control ("QA/QC") data, pulp sample grain size data are monitored by Jilbey staff to insure proper pulverization. During the current drilling campaign, Jilbey has implemented a comprehensive QA/QC program which includes inserting a minimum of 10% control samples (5% blanks and 5% standards) in the sample stream. Blind repeat assaying at the original laboratory and check assaying at a North American accredited laboratory are planed at the end of the drilling campaign. Greg Isenor P.Geo., a qualified person as defined under the Canadian Securities Administrators' National Instrument 43-101, is responsible for program supervision.
