Jim Gaughan Joins Metron Aviation to Lead Advanced Research and Engineering Services

DULLES, VA--(Marketwire - September 25, 2009) - Metron Aviation, a leading provider of advanced research, engineering services and Air Traffic Flow Management (ATFM) solutions, announces the appointment of Jim Gaughan as Senior Vice President and General Manager of Advanced Research and Engineering Services. Mr. Gaughan has over 25 years of experience in Air Traffic Management (ATM), systems engineering, software development and product integration with a long track record of success in managing large, complex programs for the FAA and other customers.

Mr. Gaughan joins Metron Aviation from Lockheed Martin, where he was most recently Program Director of the MTA IESS/C3 Program, a $320 Million program spanning 4 years and involving 6 MTA agencies, over 500 staff and 20 subcontracted companies. Mr. Gaughan was responsible for the end-to-end delivery of the program, whose purpose is to secure public transportation in New York City by providing Integrated Electronic Security Systems (IESS) at 25 monitored locations and C3 Command Centers.

During Mr. Gaughan's extensive career with Lockheed Martin, he was Chief Engineer for the Air Traffic Management business unit, responsible for all traffic management domains including en route, terminal and oceanic. He was also Project Manager for a development initiative focused on next-generation ATM capabilities.
