BOSTON, MA--(Marketwired - Mar 18, 2015) -  Choate, Hall & Stewart LLP today announced that Joan A. Lukey, Chair of the firm's Complex Trial & Appellate Litigation Group, has received a top "Band 2" ranking in the U.S. for Litigation: Trial Lawyer in the Chambers Global 2015 rankings. An elite "Band 2" ranking means that Lukey has been identified as among the "world's best" trial lawyers based on in-depth, objective research with thousands of clients and lawyers. This is the sixth consecutive year that Lukey has received a top band ranking on the prestigious Chambers Global list.

Lukey is a past President of the American College of Trial Lawyers, and was the first woman ever to hold this position. She is also a past President of the Boston Bar Association, and has served twice as a Massachusetts Special Assistant Attorney General. Lukey has been named in The Best Lawyers in America for the past 20 years, a Massachusetts Super Lawyer for 10 years, one of "America's 50 Top Women Litigators" by The National Law Journal, and one of the "35 most influential judges and lawyers in Massachusetts over the past 35 years" by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly.

Lukey received her J.D., cum laude, Order of the Coif, from Boston College Law School in 1974, and her B.A., magna cum laude, from Smith College in 1971. She is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and New Hampshire, and before the U.S. Supreme Court; the U.S. Court of Appeals, First Circuit; the U.S. District Court, District of Massachusetts; and the U.S. District Court, District of New Hampshire.
