Job Seeker Offers $1500 Reward for Help Finding Next Position

Laid-off father of three gets creative with job search

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - May 5, 2009) - A Toronto communications professional is offering a reward of up to $1,500 to anyone who can help him get hired.

"Looking for a new job can be a stressful experience, especially in difficult economic times," says Carl Mavromichalis, who was laid off two months ago. "I've decided to try something totally different and have some fun at the same time."

Mavromichalis says the idea for the contest came from reports in the U.S. that other laid-off professionals were canvassing their networks with monetary offers for assistance.

"I wanted to see how I could take that concept to another level," he says. "I'm an innovative problem-solver and this contest is just one example."

Mavromichalis' efforts to land that next great job are being supported by three individuals with whom he has worked with in the past. Here's what they have to say about him:

"Carl is worth hiring because he is the type of person who puts in the effort and time to make sure his job is done and done correctly."

-- Dr. Martin Martens, Assistant Professor, John Molson School of Business, Concordia University

"Carl is an excellent strategic communicator. We have collaborated on several projects and I have found his work to be of a very high calibre."

-- Jeff Roach, APR, Director, Public Relations Program, Seneca College and former SVP, Corporate Communications, CIBC

"Carl is an exemplary employee. I could always count on him, both to deliver results for my organization and to provide expert counsel. He would be an asset to any team."

-- Sharleen Stewart, former employer, SEIU Canada
