JobsOhio Joins Largest-Ever U.S. Business Delegation to 2016 Hannover Messe in Germany

COLUMBUS, OH--(Marketwired - Apr 14, 2016) - JobsOhio today announced it is part of the largest-ever U.S. delegation to Hannover Messe, the world's foremost trade fair for industrial technology taking place April 25-29, in Hannover, Germany. For the first time in the fair's history, the United States will be the Partner Country. This status provides the more than 390 businesses and organizations in the U.S. delegation an unprecedented opportunity to be prominently featured throughout the event. President Obama will also participate in this year's event, themed "Integrated Industry - Discover Solutions."

JobsOhio joins more than 100 Ohioans attending Hannover Messe this month with the goal of showcasing innovation, the stable business climate and skilled talent Ohio offers when it comes to Advanced Manufacturing and materials. Ambassadors from the entire JobsOhio Regional Network, comprised of six economic development partners across Ohio, will also attend the trade show, along with local economic development representatives and executives from European companies thriving in Ohio. Top researchers and engineers from three Ohio universities will also attend: University of Cincinnati, University of Toledo and The Ohio State University.

Ohio Lt. Governor, Mary Taylor, will join the Ohio delegation at Hannover Messe on April 25 and 26 to meet with top executives of European countries either currently operating in Ohio or interested in U.S. expansion efforts.

"The Hanover Messe trade fair is the perfect opportunity for Ohio's business community to globally showcase our state's economic comeback story," said Ohio Lieutenant Governor Mary Taylor. "Ohio is the whole package complete with both the necessary infrastructure, and the appropriate workforce for international companies to thrive. I look forward to sharing what so many already know -- Ohio's diverse economy and friendly business climate makes it the ideal destination for any size company."

According to Andrew Lange, director of international sales for JobsOhio, this level of participation from Ohio is unprecedented. "Ohioans will fulfill at least 15 speaking slots on the agenda, giving our state the opportunity to make our business case to the world," said Lange. "We know Ohio is well suited to support companies coming over from Europe and to help them thrive here. We look forward to making the most of this opportunity during the first-ever USA Partner Country presence at Hannover Messe."

JobsOhio along with their network, academic and foreign company partners will exhibit in the largest stand of the show: Partnerland Hall 3, Stands F06/30-32.

"The U.S. business community and the Department of Commerce have a clear message for the world: the United States is open for business. We will demonstrate and deliver on that message at the 2016 Hannover Messe," said U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker. "We are proud to have some of America's most innovative and forward-thinking Ohio companies as well as the state's innovative economic development organizations joining the U.S. delegation at this year's fair."

Hannover Messe typically hosts over 200,000 attendees from more than 70 countries, including global investors, buyers, distributors, resellers and government officials.
