John Fogerty achieved fame as the lead singer/songwriter and guitarist in Creedence Clearwater Revival and has since gone on to a chart-topping solo career. Fogerty's fervent vocals and modernized rockabilly songs built on his classic guitar riffs made Creedence Clearwater Revival the preeminent American singles band of the late '60s and early '70s.

Creedence Clearwater Revival released nine Top Ten singles, all written by Fogerty, between 1969 and 1971, and scored eight gold albums between 1968 and 1972, all fueled by Fogerty's simple, driving rock songs and his burly baritone, intoning deceptively poetic and even political lyrics. After the band split up in 1972, Fogerty embarked on a successful solo career.

John Fogerty initially released an album of covers, on which he played all the instruments, under the name the Blue Ridge Rangers in 1973. This was followed by a formal solo album, John Fogerty, in 1975. Fogerty returned at the end of 1984 with a Top Ten single, "The Old Man Down the Road," and a number one album, Centerfield. Eye of the Zombie followed in 1986. He released Blue Moon Swamp in 1997 and the live album Premonition appeared just a year later. In 2004 John Fogerty released Deja vu All Over Again. The Long Road Home: The Ultimate John Fogerty/Creedence Collection and its accompanying DVD Long Road Home: In Concert was released in 2005, this release marks the first compilation of its kind to feature both Creedence Clearwater Revival classics and Fogerty's solo work. In 2007, Fogerty released Revival, a collection of 12 songs that incorporate the best elements of an artist that deeply resonates with generations of music fans and thousands of other artists he has influenced throughout the years.
