Republican presidential candidate John McCain is calling for a 300 million dollar government prize for whoever who can develop a substantially better electric car battery. McCain said the prize would be awarded for, "the development of a battery package that has the size, capacity, cost and power to leapfrog the commercially available plug-in hybrids or electric cars."
