John Robins Joins Brilliant Board

EDMONTON, ALBERTA--(CCNMatthews - Nov. 9, 2005) - Brilliant Mining Corp. (TSX VENTURE:BMC) ("Brilliant") is pleased to announce the addition of John E. Robins, P.Geo. to its Board of Directors, subject to regulatory approval. Brilliant has also accepted the Board resignation of Tom Bryant, who was instrumental in the formation of the Company and will continue to play a consulting role in its development.

Mr. Robins is a registered professional geologist based in Vancouver, BC Canada. A graduate of Geological Sciences from the University of British Columbia, he has over 20 years of experience as an independent exploration geologist and entrepreneur. Mr. Robins is a principle of Hunter Exploration Group, a private exploration and venture capital group and a director and founder of several successful public exploration companies. He is also a Director of the NWT and Nunavut Chamber of Mines, a Fellow of the Geological Association of Canada, and a member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia.

"John Robins is a key addition to our Board", said Brilliant's President, Sean Mager. "His technical expertise and business acumen are perfectly suited to our early-stage company. As a significant shareholder and respected promoter, John understands our strategy and our projects. His welcome insight and advice will help us to maximize shareholder value."

In conjunction with the appointment, Brilliant has granted 485,000 options to directors, consultants and employees in accordance with the terms of its Option Plan at an exercise price of $0.16 per share. Of these, 265,000 options will be granted to directors and officers with the remaining 220,000 going to employees and consultants.

Brilliant is a junior resource company dedicated to in-house generation and management of worldwide mineral exploration opportunities with superior conceptual and technical merit. The initial strategy is to identify and acquire early stage or "green fields" mineral properties that are capable of hosting world-class mining districts; prove their merit by assembling critical data sets; and attract investment partners. Brilliant is also actively pursuing new global opportunities to increase its property portfolio and maximize the odds of discovery, along with shareholder value.

Presently, Brilliant is applying its strategy in the search for Nickel-Copper (Ni-Cu) and Platinum Group Element (PGE). Brilliant has property under option with Falconbridge Ltd. near Chesterfield Inlet, Nunavut and numerous claims were acquired in western Labrador based on anomalous mineralization; highly favourable geological criteria; and proximity to infrastructure.

Recent GEOTEM geophysical data and prospecting by BMC on its 100% owned Michikamau project has defined high priority targets within the interpreted "throat" of the intrusion, which is critical for concentrating Ni sulphides in this geologic setting. A follow-up program designed to test these targets is planned for this winter. Michikamau represents an early stage untested analogue to the Voisey's Bay deposit, which is rich in Ni-Cu-Co and also located in Labrador.
