John West Named One of the "Provider Pros to Know" by Supply and Demand Chain Executive Magazine

BOSTON, MA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- March 29, 2005 -- John West, Chairman and Founder of Silver Oak Solutions, was recently named one of Supply and Demand Chain Executive Magazine's "Provider Pros to Know" in 2005. This distinction is given annually to a small group of individuals who have "exhibited deep domain knowledge and innovative thinking within the supply chain industry." This is the latest of many prestigious honors awarded to Mr. West and Silver Oak Solutions.

According to Andrew K. Reese, the editor of Supply and Demand Chain Executive, "This year's Provider Pros to Know have shown themselves to be thought-leaders in their respective supply chain segments. Their efforts in developing the tools and processes necessary for supply chain transformation, and in promoting new approaches to supply chain enablement, have earned them a place on this year's Provider Pros listing."

Mr. West developed his expertise in strategic sourcing and supply chain management at Mitchell Madison Group, a global management consulting firm that led strategic sourcing for corporations in the 1990s. Leveraging his in-depth knowledge and experience in strategic sourcing, Mr. West launched Silver Oak Solutions in 1999. Under his leadership, Silver Oak has grown to become one of the country's premier providers of procurement and sourcing solutions. Silver Oak's clients include mid-market and Fortune 1000 companies, and numerous state and municipal governments.

Mr. West's recognition by Supply and Demand Chain Executive stems from the unique approach to public-sector procurement reform pioneered by Silver Oak. This approach transforms procurement in the government sector by applying best practices in spend management that have been used by Fortune 100 companies for many years. This vision and innovation, led by Mr. West, is changing the way state and municipal governments conduct procurement, while creating millions of dollars in cost savings.

Mr. West and Silver Oak have received recognition for their groundbreaking work from several organizations. The Pioneer Institute for Public Policy awarded Silver Oak special recognition as part of its "Better Government Competition," while the Democratic Leadership Council named "Partners in Procurement" a "Model Initiative" and the "Idea of the Week" for increasing vendor competition. The National Association of State Chief Administrators gave Silver Oak its "Outstanding Program Award" and the University of Pennsylvania's Fels Institute of Government honored Silver Oak for "Tackling the Public Sector Fiscal Crisis by Cutting Costs, Not Programs."

This year marks the third annual listing of Provider Pros to Know by Supply and Demand Chain Executive Magazine (www.sdcexec.com), a bi-monthly magazine for supply and demand chain management professionals.
